Zipongo Buzz

Saffron?
  • Saffron is a spice derived from the flower of Crocus sativus, commonly known as the saffron crocus. Because each flower's stigmas need to be collected by hand and there are only a few per flower, saffron is the most expensive spice in the world.

The Full Scoop

A Destination Experience, Right Out of Your Freezer

Looking for something quick, easy, and a little different? Halal frozen entres from Saffron Road are ready in just a few minutes from freezer to microwave to plate, and are all under 400 calories. They also span a huge variety of cuisine. For example, the Moroccan Lamb Stew reflects the amazing flavors that can only be found in Casablanca, Morocco. For hours, tender cubes of free roaming lamb are simmered with sweet potatoes, coriander, cumin, cinnamon, and ginger until every drop is perfection. Then, it is served over a nutritious couscous, so no drop is wasted.

All Saffron Road products are Halal Certified by the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA). Halal is an Islamic tradition that has healthfully fed literally billons of people over the last 1400 years and promotes the sacred tradition of respect for the land, fair treatment for farmers, humane treatment of livestock, and clean, healthy food to eat. Saffron road also has 12 certified gluten free products, is enrolled in the Non-GMO Project, and houses all of its production facilities in North America, employing American workers.

You asked to be able to buy your favorite foods more than once on Zipongo

Now you can!

Food Providers can't offer 50%+ off all the time, but we found a way to keep giving you deals on your groceries.

After you buy a deal, you can now buy it again for a smaller discount (5-15% off). Each time you buy, you earn a Point. Also, when you recommend a food to a friend (new or existing Zipongo shopper) and they click on the referral link and buy that food, you earn a point. After you rack up five points, the Big Deal is opened back up!
