For the uninitiated, the difference between conventionally produced milk products and organic, gently pasteurized products is like the difference between conventional cable and HDTV--you don't know what you're missing until you try it!
Straus Family Creamery only makes organic dairy products. All of their products are made from milk that has been pasteurized at 170 degrees for 19 seconds, about the same temperature as a nice toasty cup of hot chocolate. This slow process keeps the natural flavors of the milk intact. About 80% of the cows' intake comes from grasses either through direct grazing or the consumption of cut and fermented grasses (a recent USDA study shows that cows who graze produce five times more of a cancer-fighting compound, Conjugated Linoleic Acid, than cows fed a conventional diet). 100% of their diet comes from organically grown food, and the herd is never treated with growth hormones or antibiotics. Straus Family Creamery also uses no herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers on their fields, and all of their products are certified Kosher and gluten free. You'll taste the difference!
