While on a hike in the Rocky Mountains of Colorago, Lara Milliken wasn't satisfied with granola or GORP for sustenance on the trails. She thought to combine wholesome ingredients such as fruits and nuts to create a food product that's tasty, healthy and convenient. After noting popular flavors of ice cream and cookies at the grocery store, Lara dove into developing a good food that people would be excited about. With five flavors, she made her own bars with her Cuisinart and rolling pin. And so began LARABAR.
Made with as few as two natural and raw ingredients per flavor, each LARABAR is made with nuts and dried fruit to start. Each of the unique varieties is made with additional spices, juices, or oils the are sure to tantalize while packing a nutrient punch. From Apple Pie to Lemon Bar to Cashew Cookie, there's a wide range of sweet and salty options that you can enjoy on-the-go for energy or as a healthy dessert.
LARA bars are also nutritious. Using raw foods as ingredients keeps the flavor and nutrients in the bars intact, keeping each bite as healthy as possible. So, not only do the bars pop with sweetness and tang or spice, but they also come with a healthy dose of naturally present vitamins and minerals.
